Anyone else here REALLY excited for Armed and Rangerous Season 2? I'm not a huge PR guy, but I am very big into Tokustsu so the tease of Kamen Rider during the site shake up got my very excited. For those of you who are unaware: Tokustsu is the Japanese TV & movie genre of "special effects". Super Sentai, one of the two super long running titans, was eventually localized as Power Rangers with newly filmed out of costume scenes. Unfortunately every show that's tried to come over since as been derided as a Power Rangers rip off and failed. Kamen Rider is the other Titan and I am super excited to see what Jan thinks of it. So let's use this thread to speculate on when the season might start, what season of the show it might cover, and just to discuss toku in general!

I got into the Trails series with the release of the first Trails to the Sky game on PC, but have only actually finished that and most of 2nd. 2nd has a pretty notorious second to last boss that I was just never able to beat. That stalled my progresion in the series, and even though the more recent and popular Trails of Cold Steel quadrilogy isn't a direct sequel, I haven't been able to bring myself to continue.

@oxe: Can they explain what's going on? Would it be within the realm of Jeff's wishes even if they could? Is this the "corporate line" that we're towing? Once again, you're speculating wildly and assuming that the crew is working in the worst faith possible. Let me make something perfectly clear: This is a business. These people are not your friends. You don't know them. Every time you've ever seen them, they've been performing for you. Anything behind the camera is not your business unless they wish it, and no one should be vilified for not doing so.

@av_gamer: Nobody in the community is acting like this isn't a big deal, there's a million comments sharing memories and thanking Jeff. There's just no point in blaming the crew when we have no idea who's "fault" this situation is and we probably never will. It could be Jeff's decision to keep his exit small and private, it could be that because of corporate decisions at RV the crew did as much as they were legally allowed to, it could be that the crew decided on their own to make it this unceremonious (unlikely imo). The point is, without a given reason all this hate is just complete speculation that blames the crew in full for things that could be completely out of their control. Its a negative energy that's unneeded and uncalled for.

This reminded me a lot of the old goty skits they used to do. I was really bummed when they got replaced by basically a Christmas themed UPF, so I'm very pleased by this.

I fell off of gb content right around covid, just could not get into the webcam format. This is the first time I've wanted to come back though, so maybe I've just missed Dan.

I don't think they do, but it's when they try and fail spectacularly that causes game stories to not be taken seriously. Which happens 99% of the time.

I know it's not their fault, but work from home immediately killed my interest :/. The in person group aspect gave it something really unique. Doing stuff over calls always adds a layer of awkwardness due to possible lag & less ability to read each other. Plus it led to much more one person content, which I've never liked. Theres reason they had stopped doing one person quick looks after the first year or so of the website.

Banjo Kazooie and Conker's Bad Fur Day could be considered spin offs of Diddy Kong Racing. Nier is a spinoff of Drakengard.

Kingdom Hearts 3, Metal Gear Solid V, and Zero Time Dilemma were all huge build ups with lack luster payoff. KH3 tied everything up with a bow in the most boring and predictable way possible, although I do think what it set up next seems interesting. We'll never know what truly happened with MGSV, but it seems like just a pointless mess. Nothing happened, the twist was figured out a year before the game came out, and it didn't even bother with it's main conceit of showing Big Boss's final descent to evil. ZTD suffered from almost not getting made due to previous low sales, to the point they had to abandon the finer points of it's plot to hopefully bring in new players. It ended up not really doing that at all while also pissing off the people who wanted to see that stuff resolved.
