I'm playing Bionic Commando on xbox. This theme is probably the best part of the game and entirely deceptive. I mean the game itself is okay but when it starts like this, with an elegant theme, I wanted to hope that there was more to it than shooting dudes and swinging. I know that's all there was to the original and I'm not asking for the Citizen Kane of videogames but it starts with the foundational theme of a government that cast aside it's soldiers as ugly reminders of their past and, thus far, it's done nothing with it. The storytelling just devovled into a bunch of snarky assholes yelling at each other. Oh well.
Here's a megaupload link for an <a href="http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZS8JUYV0">MP3 download of the theme</a>.
Also, I'm pretty sure it takes a solid 5 minutes to get from bootup to in-game, even skipping the intro FMVs. Why in god's name does the start screen lead to a loading screen and then a menu??/
@MetalR: seriously, this game has some awesome art direction!
Oh, G-Police, why must you abuse me so? Your controls are intuitive but the floaty-ness is absolutely awful. Your graphics push the PS1 to it's limits but that results in horrible pop-in. Your missions are varied and exciting except the floaty controls make all escort missions (which is probably half of the total missions) an exercise in frustration.
@Satune: I didn't really play much of either MDK's, even though I own MDK 2 on dreamcast. I liked them plenty but nowhere near as much as Descent, though you're probably closer to getting a new MDK than I am to getting a new Descent. I think Descent may be a little too esoteric for the current generation. I mean, Mechwarrior got dumbed down to fit onto an xbox controller. Not that I don't enjoy MechAssault, mind you, but it doesn't give me the level of satisfaction and immersion that I had playing Mechwarrior 2 (or even Mech4 Mercenaries).
