This is late, but I haven't been around to look online and I just found out this news. I guess I am lucky, because I get to replace my shock and sadness with the actual comments on this thread instantly. I, like many others, have followed this whole crew since the G-Spot days. And I never knew Ryan personally, but with that much time of watching and laughing with someone 3000 miles away every day, you get to feel friendly with that person. Of course I've gotten comments from Ryan via email a few times and on posts. But there is something more amazing here than little "He talked to me" stories by them selves. Ryan clearly affected a lot of people by simply being himself on the internet. There are endless memories and testimony. Sure he was foulmouthed and a little angry (which was always more of a friendly anger... unless it involved that damnable Yoshi). But that makes for a better feeling that he was an outgoing friend of everyone, with his openness. I definitely feel he gives a good model to follow as a general attitude toward life, as people have commented. Instead of being sad he is gone, we should be happy he ever was here to share himself with us through all these wonderful snippets from his work.

I know this is late but here we go. I have not been around to get online in a few weeks (vacation and work and such). I thought to myself to catch up on some GB gaming news today. This is the story I scrolled down to find. I was shocked and speechless.

I love games. I love reading. To expand. I read about 3 books in 2 weeks. It comes from my college time when I had about 3 papers due at a time. It usually annoys the hell out of my friends. The Game of Thrones books have slowed down my progress. But to give a good example, the past two weeks I read a book on the rise of the Roman Empire, the Barbary Wars, and the third ice and fire book (about 3/4). As well I played and beat 4 games (I got tired of The End of Us about halfway through). And I saw 3 movies (Man of Steel wasn't bad and This is the End is funny). And I worked 40 hour weeks. And I played golf every Saturday. And I went to 3 parties. That isn't always typical. Oh and I had two dates (same girl). One was one of the parties that included going to a movie. Sometimes you have to manage with what you can fit into a day.

I voted that I use it a lot. It amazes me who cannot use cursive. I work at a bank near a college. There are students who come in and can't even sign their name. I am not talking about people who have bad penmanship. They cannot sign their name. I feel bad for them. Squiggly lines do not make a signature unless you can do the same lines every time. We check signatures. This is not a joke. Especially when you consider every transaction and check received at a bank is a legal document. One said student learned his lesson when his roommate supposedly stole his checks. He couldn't prove it with us or the police because his signature was NVNVNVNVN with a line drawn through it. And there was no consistency between signatures. sometimes it was VNWMV or MWVNVW. His name was Richard.... which is easy as hell to write in cursive. We were pretty clear when we questioned how he even got into college.

I voted no, but there is an explanation. A) Her foods are basically what I grew up with, even though I try to be healthy... as does everyone in my family. B) Paula Deen isn't going anywhere. This is a time where the media and ad people overreact. There are plenty of sympathizers here that know she wasn't hateful or will just ignore the news. Here are my guesses at the morals of this story. 1) Paula Deen is an evil bitch and should die. 2) She did something regretful in the past and should die. 3) She likes butter and should die. 4) People should find something else to worry about and everyone is going to die.

There are a lot of conflicting answers here. Some say you have to know French if you want to be successful. Others say you don't have to know any, even if you live in the heart of Quebec. From what I can deduce, depending on the region you could live a fully successful life without knowing or speaking French, but if you want a government job or one that deals with the public mainly near Quebec then you need to be fluent. As well, there are some Canadian parents that want their children to know both, but more that don't think it is too important. Overall... it seems French in Canada is dying out except in the areas around Quebec.

That is interesting as well. So basically anyone can get around Quebec fairly easily without knowledge of French. That would explain why the French folks at McDonalds were giving the dude behind the counter a hard time. I also have heard that all signs in Canada have to be in English and French.
