"Video games have gone a lot further in ditching the adolescent stereotype than anime has. Fact.

Regardless of it being for children or not, I find the conflicts in anime trivial and superficial. I don't find it very entertaining anyways, so for me, it's not worth watching."

Bullshit.

They both have the adolescent stereotype.

Trivial Themes? Are you kidding me? Every form of media has trivial themes!
Video Games are far from innocent of this crime.
These same forms of media have mature themes too.

This is a clear case of a double standard here.

"But video games are games - they aren't a cartoon. I don't play games for the cut scenes, I play them because the gameplay is fun.

If I watched some anime show, I'm watching it for the plot, for the story, for the video - and stories about people with superpowers fighting or whatever goes on in anime don't appeal to me."
That's fine. However, you're implying that animation is for kids, but video games aren't. That simply isn't true. Both mediums have grown past their roots in adolescent demographics. You can't honestly believe that the graphic nature of some anime is for twelve year olds.

It's because of attitudes like yours that video games are still considered for children.

Let me see if I've got this straight.

Anime:  For kids and nerds.
Video Game Forums: Sophisticated intelligent and mature individuals?

Well, I love anime. However, I don't watch most of the stuff that was overdubbed with English.

Some of the anime I watched never made it to Adult Swim.

Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star)
Jojo no Kimyo na Bouken (JoJo's Bizzare Adventure)
Bakuen Campus Guardress

Will any of this change your mind? No
A lot of your criticisms are valid.

However, for those of you saying that the Marvel cartoons were superior, I disagree. That just doesn't make any sense. Your just trading in one set of clichés for another. Oh well, to each his own.

If that actually made me cool on forums, I'd so do it. Right now, threads I post in tend to fade away into obscurity.

Yeah, he sings part of the chorus of 'White Lines' by Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five. It was a popular rap song in the early 80's.

I'm exited about Megadeth. 'The Conujuring' is one of my favorite Megadeth songs.

I would've went 'Rust in Peace,' but  'Peace Sells...' is awesome too.
