Why’s everyone confused what the bonus episode will be? It’s dragonball evolution. Its one of the worst movies ever made. How can’t you be curious what that movie is.

Yo, I've seen Dragon Ball Evolution, and I don't wish that upon anyone

@redhotchilimist: Super is nothing more than cheap Dragon ball Z fanfiction, it was made by Toyotarō, he became famous because he did Dragon ball fanfiction.

That explains it then -_-

Toyotaro only writes the manga version of Super (which is quite different to the anime) the anime is written by multiple writers at Toei animation. Both versions are based on the same story outline written by Toriyama though so there are key points that have to remain the same in both.

They're not going to go over the Buu Saga?

Assuming the special is them is a Film and 40s of them watching the Future Trunks and Bardock specials.

They said ASG is going on hiatus. It seemed very clear to me that when it comes back they'll pick up where they left off. They both said they want to watch more and Jeff knows about the timeskip and everything.

Ive said it before but sweet jesus i hope they get into DBZ Abridged. Its just so good and dumb at the same time. Would be kinda cool to see them do a film and 40's with the first season or something.

People keep saying this but honestly, the early episodes are pretty rough (the guys who work on in have said so themselves, they were teenages when they started and it shows). Abridged does get really good, but it takes a while and you have to be pretty deep into the fandom to the point where you know the episodes inside out and/or have serious nostalgia for DBZ to really appreciate it.

I'm sure they'll check it out at some point but watching it too soon after their first run of DBZ isn't ideal. Besides which they have TONS of legitimate Dragon Ball content to sink their teeth into first.

The seventh time, don't forget about Soul Edge!

I'm glad they've gone back to before the timeskip in V, they lost too many great characters and replaced them with worse ones in that game. Natsu was no Taki, that's for sure.

That's a pretty nice metal case, it's a shame it's not a steelbook though. I prefer those as they usually have a spine with the logo on.

Online play felt like a massive omission from the first game, the sequel definitely needed it. This looks great, might be a day one purchase for me.

@bludgeonparagon: I think this is the only reasonable comment I've seen here in regards to the different DBZ dubs/scores. Thanks for taking the time to post it, I agree wholeheartedly.

weaboos up in here like "if it isnt the original japanese version its worthless"

This OG Japanese soundtrack is pretty fucking bland.

Only if you like garbage music that completely changes the tone of the show into generic american saturday morning trash. For crying out loud, hey earth to Funi dub fans! DBZ is not some edgy over the top toxic waste and it never will be. The Japanese soundtrack fits perfectly with what DB &DBZ were and to suggest that some decade after the fact made synth genesis 16 bit, edgy sounding music fits better, is honestly just as laughable as you calling people "weaboos" for not liking a trash dub, that is so obviously a complete bastardization.

I find it kind of ironic how you call something "toxic" in such a hateful, abrasive comment (not that the other guy is much better calling people weeaboos). Dude, maybe dial it back a few notches. It's okay if someone likes a different thing and doesn't like the thing you like. Why can't you just appreciate that you're both fans of DBZ as a whole? I've never understood all this pointless infighting and name calling in the Dragon Ball fanbase. It's so tiring and pointless because neither side will ever convince the other of their view because it's all subjective.

Personally I grew up with the Ocean and FUNimation dubs (because the UK is one of the places where the dub chopped and changed between the two at several different points) and throughout the years I've checked out the redubs, the original Japanese version and Kai both in Japanese and English. Miraculously I appreciate each version in different ways and I've always found it fascinating to dig into what makes each of them different and why they are the way they are. Each dub contributed to getting the franchise where it is today and I don't believe for a second it would be the same if all we'd ever had was the original Japanese score and nothing else.

@indigozeal: Huh? Not sure where you're getting that from. I'm just trying to be helpful duder.

I don't blame the guy either. It's such a widespread story because it's very believable. I certainly used to believe it.

If someone told me something that wasn't true I'd rather someone else pointed it out but maybe that's just me?

I mean, if it was in the same comment thread then sure, but it wasn't and he clearly hadn't seen the first mention of it.

Also he was presenting a widespread rumour as factual when it's not. When there's evidence to disprove it (or at the very least, a lack of evidence to support it) it's kinda worth pointing out.

It's worth noting that Toriyama was intending to end the series multiple times ever since the original Dragon Ball days. The end of the Freiza saga was supposed to be one of those ending points. That helps explain some of the awkwardness of the transition during this time skip. Kai's shortening of this part makes it even more weird.

Nope, that's one of the biggest myths in the fandom. It would have been an excellent stopping point but it was never intended to be.

Toriyama was always very much a "make it up on the fly" kind of writer rather than pre-planning multiple arcs way in advance.

Pretty sure I pointed this out to someone else in the comments of a prior episode but it doesn't hurt to point it out again I guess.
