@zudthespud: i actually had the same experience in the mercedes series in the second year. picked up the sl65 amg black in an auction and tuned it to the top of the class (A600 if i'm not mistaken). i actually lapped two cars in a 4 lap race (of a seriously short course). it was fun, but i may be more careful about overtuning as it may make it too easy. but there was also a weird dynamic of way different cars in that race. hatchbacks as well as some other sl65's...
for claptrap, i had trouble hearing what he was saying a lot too, so i turned on the subs. you don't need to leave them on but sometimes the filter they have on whoever did the voicework makes what he says completely incomprehensible. usually, though, it is middle of nowhere or scooter that i can't understand.
i mentioned this in the rocket launcher thread, but i've had the same issue with high accuracy rated sniper rifles. shots going straight through dudes and exploding behind them. i guess i might be sniping from too far away but i figured a 95.6 accuracy sniper shouldn't have an issue. sometimes i unload a full 5 shot clip of sniper bullets and not hit once (besides splash damage from its fire elemental).
i actually have that same problem with sniper rifles. my launchers are a bit better because of the splash damage, but i often have more than a couple of sniper shots go straight through the dude (which i know because i'm using a fire elemental one and i see them explode directly behind his torso). can be really annoying and a waste of ammo.
haven't seen this at all in canada yet. resorted to ebay as i've heard so many good reviews and it's priced as a budget title. $35 with shipping is worth it for some sim-quality pinball. no room for a real game in my basement :(.
i love these kinds of contests, the ones where you don't have to be creative. also, i have the first three fallout dlc downloaded and played through so this would be a nice addition as well as point lookout once i finish with red faction.
I find free XBLA codes alluring. Far superior to paid ones. That, and Sam and Max are awesome. I still remember finding Sam in the first Dark Forces game. What happened to Lucasarts being the kings of the easter egg?
i just picked up an RE5 bundle as i really liked the idea of a red console (and a jasper chip) and i'm thinking about starting RE5 tonight but was thinking this might be the sort of game where a little bit of knowledge going in might help out.
for instance, in fallout 3, i kind of wished i had saved before each achievement level so i could more easily get the neutral and evil path achievements.
so, how about 3 tips that you wish you had before you started the game (hopefully without spoilers please:)). thanks!
