For whatever reason, the Dead Rising (Franchise) series prefers not to use the term "Experience Point" to refer to the points which determine when the player's character levels up. Instead, they are known by the arbitrary name "Prestige Points", or PP. PP seem to be inferior to EXP, as unlike all other games with levelling up and unlocking abilities, when the player levels up in a Dead Rising game, the bonus they receive is not chosen by them, and is instead awarded randomly .
