A tool used by planetary engineers to cut through boulders by combining superheated ionized gas and plasma energy. It's also surprisingly useful for slicing off the limbs of mutant undead abominations.

The plasma cutter featured in Dead Space 2 (Game) is a jury-rigged combination of a flashlight and a surgical laser as opposed to the mining tool used in the first game. The old model can be purchased at a store for zero credits if the player has a game save from the original Dead Space (Franchise). These cutters share the same upgrades, which now includes a flame effect.
