    The seventeenth annual PAX West was scheduled to take place September 4-7, 2020 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was cancelled. A "PAX Online" event was announced to take place from September 12-20.

    Overview

    PAX West 2020 would have been the fourteenth Penny Arcade Expo to take place at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington and the seventeenth PAX in the Seattle area. It would have been the forty-fourth PAX overall since the show began in 2004.

    On June 16, 2020, PAX organizers officially cancelled PAX West 2020 and PAX Australia 2020. At the same time, they announced PAX Online that would take place from September 12-20, 2020 and would run twenty-four hours a day for the entire week including panels and esports competitions.

    The guest speaker for the traditional "Storytime Session" (opening keynote) was Mike Pondsmith, creator of Cyberpunk 2020.
