    Padmé Amidala was the wife of Anakin Skywalker, who bore his two children, Luke and Leia. Padme was one of the youngest Queens of Naboo, but later served a longer term as senator for the planet.

    Padmé Amidala is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe. Though she was mentioned in Return of the Jedi, she was not named. She did not appear in film until Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. She is the mother to Luke and Leia and was pivotal and pivotal in Anakin Skywalker turning to the dark side of the force, though incidentally. Padmé has appeared in the three prequel films as well as well as the Clone Wars TV series and in many other forms of Star Wars media.

    Padmé Amidala made here first appearance in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Played by the actress Natalie Portman, appears as the Queen of Naboo. Only 14 years old in the first film, she is a democratically-elected leader of the planet of Naboo. She quickly attempts to end the occupation of the Trade Federation by tyring to nagotiate with Nute Gunray. However when Nute attempts to have her assassinated, she is forced to flee the planet with the help of Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn. When they are forced to stop on the planet of Tatooine they meet the young slave Anakin Skywalker. After a short stay Anakin joins the group as they leave for Coruscant. Once there Queen Amidala would spend the next few fruitless years trying to sway the senate to come to her planet's aid.
     
    During Amidala's time in Coruscant she would grow close to Anakin, eventually falling in love with the young Jedi. The two kept their relationship secret since it was not permitted in the Jedi order. However their liasons eventually resulted in 
    Padmé's pregnancy. She would later die while giving birth to Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa
