Pachiokun
FRANCHISE »
A prolific Japan-only series of pachinko games for various home consoles starring the eponymous Pachiokun, a sentient pachinko ball. Every game in the series was published by Coconuts Japan, which focuses on pachinko games.

Overview

Pachiokun (sometimes stylized as Pachio-kun) is a series of pachinko games starring Pachiokun. Most of the games were developed by Marionette and/or C Dream, and published by Coconuts Japan. Each game usually involves some brief story or cutscene to explain why Pachiokun must visit pachinko parlors and gamble over and over to earn pachinko balls. The player controls Pachiokun with a top-down perspective, and can select whichever machines they wish to play by walking up to them and playing them. The early Famicom Pachiokun games were usually called Pachiokun (number). The Super Famicom games were all called Pachiokun Special (number). The series also saw entries on the Game Boy, the PC Engine (including the CD-based PC Engine CD-ROM2) and the PlayStation.
