    The Ottoman Empire conquered, and regarded itself as a continuation of, both the Roman Empire and the Islamic Caliphate, with the Ottoman emperors claiming the titles of both Caesar and Caliph, respectively. At its height, the Ottoman Empire extended across three continents: Western Asia (Middle East), Eastern Europe, and Northern Africa. Its capital city was Constantinople, now known as Istanbul, in present-day Turkey.

    In video games, the empire is featured most prominently in the Soul Calibur and Assassin's Creed franchises.
