Before I got there, he started rolling away from me and I audibly said "woah, woah, woah slow your roll" while using a sloth talisman oh him, before consciously connecting the two and realizing the horrible crime I had just committed.

"Joke" is a stretch. "Slow your roll" is a common English phrase you'd say to someone who's rushing through something or jumping to conclusions. What I said was particularly stupid and dumb and bad because not only was he going too fast for me to catch up, but he was literally rolling, and using the sloth talisman, I was literally slowing him down
