Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water (Fushigi no Umi no Nadia) is a Japanese anime that originally aired between April 1990 to April 1991. Before the series had finished, several developers started work on video game adaptations for various systems.
The plot of the series involves the mysterious eponymous heroine Nadia, a circus performer who is trying to escape a gang of jewel thieves after the brilliant blue gemstone in her pendant. She is joined by Jean, a young French orphan and genius inventor, and a few other companions as the series continues. They eventually join Captain Nemo on board his ship the Nautilus and become involved in a battle to save the world from the Neo-Atlanteans.
