Overview
Mokap is a motion-capture actor and joke character in the Mortal Kombat series, first appearing as a hidden character in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Sporting a motion capture suit, he has a vast knowledge of martial arts and constantly finds himself being transported to strange realms. He shares his likeness, as well as part of his backstory, with the real-life motion capture actor, martial artist, and long-time Midway/NetherRealm employee Carlos Pesina.
Unlike most other characters in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Mokap does not have a weapon-based fighting style. Instead, he has three martial arts styles in Deadly Alliance (Tai Chi, Karate, and Taekwondo) and two martial arts styles in Armageddon (Jeet Kune Do and Wing Chun). Despite being a common Earthrealmer, he does sport some supernatural abilities (including telekinesis and projectiles). He is one of the few characters in the series to never receive a unique fatality.
He does not appear in any of the game's alternate timelines.
Story
In the original timeline, "Mokap" (or "Mokap Man") is the nickname of a former martial arts teacher in Chicago who was called upon to Hollywood by Johnny Cage to do motion capture work for his new movie, "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance". Since then, he constantly finds himself being in the wrong place at the wrong time and fights for his life (unsuccessfully, as he dies in the Battle of Armageddon along with countless others).
Endings (non-canon)
Following the events of Deadly Alliance, Mokap goes on to perform the motion capture work for a new Johnny Cage movie based on the recent events in Outworld. He also works with Midway Games in the movie's video game adaptation.
Mokap defeats Blaze and causes an explosion which kills himself and the rest of the fighters. Mokap becomes a constellation, and he remains a figure taught in Edenian history as the Earthrealm warrior who saved all the realms from Armageddon.
