The ninth main installment of the Mario Kart series of kart racers features 24-player races and a wide-open world where all the circuits reside.
Overview
Mario Kart World is a kart racing game developed by Nintendo EPD (Company) and published by Nintendo (Company) for the Nintendo Switch 2 (Platform) (as a launch title) on June 5, 2025.
The ninth mainline installment of the Mario Kart (Franchise) series, Mario Kart World features 24-player races and a large connected open world where all circuits reside, which most game modes make use of in different ways (such as a revamped Grand Prix (Concept), the last-racer-standing Knockout Tour, and a casual "free roam").

Grand Tour
In traditional Mario Kart fashion, Grand Tour consists of a variety of Cups, each with an assortment of races. New to the series, however, is that only the first race is played as a standard circuit, with the other three races starting with the open world's route between each course.
Some circuits are unique in that each "lap" is a single part of the track.
