    Overview

Mansion of Hidden Souls is a game developed by System Sacom originally for the Sega CD attachment to the Sega Genesis. A sequel to the game was later released for the Sega Saturn console. It is an adventure game that uses pre-rendered polygonal full motion video (FMV) graphics. The game's gameplay elements are similar to other FMV adventure games of the era like Myst or D and largely consists of puzzle solving.

The player's sister laments that she wishes to be a butterfly and then disappears. As a result the player must explore a mysterious mansion to look for the lost sister. Coincidentally, the mansion is infested by butterflies. Through the course of the game the player must solve puzzles during the search for the little girl.

The game marketed itself as a scary or frightening game, but ultimately the games never really brought on the scares, especially in light of other games of the time like Alone in the Dark and Resident Evil.
