Lead & Gold Pre-Orders Open, Play The Beta Now
In case you forgot, L&G is a class-based third-person shooter set in the Wild West. Fatshark brought it out our way a little earlier this year, and we managed to have a heck of a time playing it. So I went ahead and placed my pre-order already.
The game will leave its beta status behind on April 8 on the PC, at which time the 10 percent per-order discount will evaporate, leaving behind a full price of $14.99. Console versions of the game are also in development, though no specific release date has been given.
We'll probably be taking an expedient glance at the beta next week, so stay tuned for that.

This game sorta reminds me of team fortress for some reason. That combined with the fact that its only 15 bucks makes me kinda wanna get it. I'll wait to see the QL of it though.
That's tempting. That's really tempting.
I'll watch the Expedient Glance next week and maybe pre-purchase.
third person shooters on PC, i've actually never played one. should i get this on the 360 instead or Steam?
I already have team fortress 2 on both the PC and Xbox 360, and this's basically that, so thanks. But I already have too much money going on games this year as it is.
It does look great though...
Kind of interested, anyone able to give a quick heads up on how the game is playing in beta? Too many times I've ended up buying smaller, lesser known titles and getting my fingers burnt with them. Somewhat reluctant to pre-order a game I've heard so little about, a game that could arguably end up being a graveyard online too.
Preordered this and have been playing the beta for the last few hours, the game is a lot of fun.
things I like most so far are:
The games art style is really cool, nice and colorful and runs well on my PC
There are some cool special moves for each class, like the gunslinger can do a close range rapid fire barrage or the sniper can lay traps.
There's a flag that a member of your team can pick up letting you spawn on them, helps a lot when you are pushing to capture points. It also saved me when I was outnumbered a few times.
Definitely worth the 13.50 I paid for it.
" I already have team fortress 2 on both the PC and Xbox 360, and this's basically that, so thanks. But I already have too much money going on games this year as it is. It does look great though... "This is a misconception that needs to go away. The art style and advertising campaign are both extremely similar to Team Fortress 2. However, once you get into game, they're worlds apart. Like, they're not even remotely similar in any way. L&G and TF2 have about the same in common as MW2 and TF2 do.
I dislike this trend of using the term "beta" inplace of "demo".
The game's out in little over three weeks and they're going to take the data they recieve from the beta and make changes with it before the game ships?
I also don't see why you need to pre-order to get in.. Those that pre-order are clearly already interested enough to get the game, where as people who'd rather wait and try it out first, get nothing. Good job on building excitement for the game guys.
I understand, but the fact that the marketing makes it look so much like TF2 is probably not a good idea, because if I, as a "hardcore gamer", didn't notice the difference then the "leisure gamer" certainly won't, and will skip it because he's/she's already got TF2." @crusnchill said:

Ah well... I'll probably just get it in the next christmas sale or something. Like I said before, "I already have too much money going on games this year as it is."
Hope you enjoy it though. :-)

" I'm tempted. I really want a new shooter, and can't really afford a full price game. But I'd rather have a modern military shooter instead of a wild west shooter. I dunno. I'll think about it. "
Dude! COD4, MW2, Battlefield: BC2 are all really proficient at being Modern shooters, why would you need more right now?
If they baked in full Steamworks support then it's an easy purchase for me, otherwise I'll wait for a sale.
" @McSmunions said:Not in my experience. I hop on for a round every once in a while." third person shooters on PC, i've actually never played one. should i get this on the 360 instead or Steam? "Battlefield Heroes was 3rd Person, but it sucked horribly, even for a free game "
" Preordered last night. LOVE IT. It's Team Fortress 2 for people who aren't good at TF2! I'm sure it's fun for the good players too. "That's my problem with it: it's not offering anything new. I do not expect every game to blow me away, but I see no reason to choose it over TF2 or any other game in my Steam games list.
" Expedient Glance would be a pretty good name for a video feature. "This is a true thing.
That's just stupid. You pay for the FULL game and unitl it is released - you get to play the beta." @SunKing said:
Blame all the idiots who accept it. Beta now means 'We want to charge for a demo, but need a new name to call it. Let's use 'closed beta', even if it's taken already' "" Pre-order the game for the privilage of testing it for us! Bargain! "
