Overview
Defined by its use of a visual indicator, Last Known Position is a function that provides a silhouette or other marker at the position the enemies or opposing force last saw the player character. This allows the player to skirt around the antagonists as they investigate, giving opportunities for flanking and other tactics taking advantage of the enemy's lack of awareness. Some games also give last known positions for enemy positions, in situations that involve fog of war or other states of limited view. This allows the player some opportunity to give chase and improves their chances of tracking down their prey once more.
