Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is the follow-up to Canvas Curse for the Wii U. It includes a 4-player co-op mode where players control Waddle Dees that carry Kirby around and one player controls the paintbrush.
Overview
HAL Lab's Kirby and the Rainbow Curse ("Touch! Kirby: Super Rainbow" in Japan & "Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush" in PAL regions) for Wii U is the spiritual successor to Kirby: Canvas Curse (Game), an early Nintendo DS (Platform) showpiece. The key carryover is the main gameplay mechanic of the player not directly controlling Kirby but instead drawing a path for him to roll on with the touch screen.
Singleplayer
The main singleplayer portion of the game takes players across seven worlds with 28 stages. On top of that, there's a separate challenge mode with over 40 stages.
Transformations
Similar to Kirby's Epic Yarn, Kirby is able to transform at certain points in the game. Among these transformations is a tank, a submarine, and a spaceship.
Multiplayer
Since this title appears on a home console, one of the new features this enables is multiplayer in the form of asymmetric co-op. Player 1 controls Kirby the same way as in singleplayer but three more people can join in as Bandana Waddle Deeswho can jump on the lines drawn with the rainbow paintbrush or even pick up and carry Kirby around (also throw him).
Amiibo
The game supports the Kirby, Meta Knight (Character) and King DeDeDe amiibo (Concept). Each one can be used to activate a special power-up ability for Kirby. The Kirby amiibo activates infinite Star Dash, Meta Knight makes Kirby don the Meta Knight mask and gives him higher attack power and the King DeDeDe amiibo has Kirby wear DeDeDe's hat and increases his health by two extra points. Each amiibo can be used only once per day and the power up only lasts for the duration of the stage it has been used in.
