I remember it coming packaged with my PS2 when I got it back in early 2002. To this day it remains one of my favourite platformers. Anybody else get their first dose of PS2 with this game?
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Dec 04, 2001
Take on the role of Jak, and embark on a long journey to change Daxter back from his ottsel form.
Was this anyone else's first PS2 game?
Mine was either Ridge Racer V or Street Fighter EX 3. I can't remember for sure (picked both up the same day). After that was Ring of Red and then I don't think I picked up or played anything else on the system for a good 2 years. Didn't get around to playing Jak & Daxter for the first time until last summer.
Same here. I bought my PS2 from Costco and it came bundled along with Jak and Daxter and GT3: A-Spec. I also rented Kingdom Hearts on the same day which turned out to be one of my favorite PS2 games ever.
No the first game I played for the PS2 was Devil May Cry. Though I did love this game enough to hunt down every Precursor Egg and I prefer it over the sequels because Jak had yet to go all "Poochie" with his goatee and angsty dark powers.
No, my PS2 was bundled with ATV Off road Fury 2 and Ratchet and Clank. I sold one of those games, I'll let you guess which one.
PS1- Gameday 98 and Twisted Metal, bundled from Priceclub came with extra controller and a memory card as well
PS2 - GTA3
PS3 - MGS4 (80gig Bundle)
Nope, but it's my current one. I started it today on a real ps2 and I'm loving it apart from a slightly dodgy camera and a few jumps. I bought the trilogy and this one doesn't have a manual, just some crazy pamphlet with the speccy chap saying I'll need a memory card. Any control things I should know about? I've discovered roll + jump = long jump. I just crossed Fire Canyon and Jo Peschi squirrel gurgled something about fast turns. Is that one of the triggers that I thought was jump? I couldn't find reverse on the bike so presume it doesn't have one.
I just finished Paper Mario on the n64 and this is a staggering graphical upgrade even though they're both 2001. I think the game looks amazing, but as you might have guessed it's all about charm, narrative and gameplay for me.
