    Overview

     Il Piantissimo is a dark-skinned man in a Pianta disguise Mario must race in Super Mario Sunshine. He appears in Gelato Beach, Pianta Village, and Noki Bay. These races play out in a similar fashion to the ones against Koopa the Quick in Super Mario 64. If Mario wins the race, he receives a Shine Sprite. If he fails the race, he loses a life.

    When Super Mario Sunshine is completed, the ending screen shows Il Piantissimo finding Bowser Jr.'s  Magic Paintbrush, which leads to the possibility that Piantissimo took it for himself.
