Overview
Holy Umbrella: Dondera no Mubo!! ("Holy Umbrella: The Reckless Dondera!!") is a 2D side-scrolling platformer that was developed by Earthly Soft and released on the Super Famicom in 1995. Its hero is transported from 20th century Japan to a fantasy world that is being threatened by the evil emperor Dondera and his legion of mechanized minions. The hero's umbrella, which was the catalyst for his transportation, is the best weapon he has to save this world. The game alternates from a side-scrolling view for its action stages and a top-down view for adventure/RPG sections where the player character is walking around populated areas and talking to NPCs. The game was never officially localized into English, but the group Aeon Genesis created a fan translation in 2009.
