In 2019, Hulst was promoted to head of Sony Worldwide Studio. On May 13 2024, Hermen Hulst was named as co-CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment alongside co-CEO Hideaki Nishino following Jim Ryan (Person)'s departure. Both will report to Sony chairman and former interim CEO Hiroki Totoki.
