Overview
Guillermo del Toro is a Mexican film director who is perhaps most famous for his genre films, such as Blade 2, the Hellboy films, and Pan's Labyrinth. He has since worked on major films such as The Hobbit series, Kung Fu Panda series, and Pacific Rim.
Video Games
Del Toro is known for being a video gamer. His favourite video games include the 1993 adventure games Gadget: Invention, Travel & Adventure and Cosmology of Kyoto, both of which he credited as influences on his work, as well as the classic arcade shooters Asteroids and Galaga.
In 2010, it was revealed that del Toro would be making his first foray into the world of video game development, with him and a few of his frequent collaborators being signed by THQ to create a brand new franchise, called inSANE. The first game in the supposed trilogy is planned for release in 2013, and del Toro has repeatedly said in interviews that he is very actively involved in the development of the game at Volition Inc, making frequent trips to Champaign, Illinois, and holding frequent video conferences with the development team whenever he is unable to be physically present in the studio.
Silent Hills
At Gamescom 2014, the game demo P.T. was announced. Upon completion of the game demo, a reveal showed that Guillermo del Toro would be collaborating with Hideo Kojima to create the next iteration in the Silent Hill series, Silent Hills.
