The minis port of this game is broken as heck.

I was just browsing through the PSN Store earlier, and noticed this in the "new this week" section. I fondly remember playing Guerrilla War on my NES, and thought this would be great for a hit of nostalgia. And the arcade version had to be better than the NES version, right?

    Oh, how wrong I was.

How the arcade version should look.
How the arcade version should look.

The first thing you'll notice is that about 10% of the top AND bottom of the screen is cut out of view. Those are the parts of the screen that show your score, and lives.. So that's great. The next thing is that this game's controls are ported rather poorly, too. You use L1 and R1 to turn which way your little shooter dude faces, but this is prone to glitch out and face you in completely random directions for no real reason.

So, not being able to see how many lives/continues I had, I played through on the assumption that I had some kind of "free play" enabled up until the last level, which I remember is where you blow up a bunch of turrets on a mansion and kill the king, or whatever. BUT you can't see what you're supposed to shoot at! It was around then I ran out of continues and was sent back to the start of the game.

Now I've heard of half-assed ports before, but this is just ridiculous. Luckily I only got it because it was a free offer for PS+ members, but I feel bad for anyone who paid money for this broken as heck port.

The PSN minis version. Notice how the score, lives, etc. are cut off of the top and bottom of the screen.

In short; don't buy this mini. Go emulate the NES version instead, I remember that being great. Rant over.
