Gridders is a 3D top-down puzzle-action game developed by Tetragon (Company) and published by The 3DO Company (Company) for the 3DO (Platform) in 1994. In Gridders, players must navigate the hero, Zack, through 36 16×16 grid-shaped boards full of autonomously-rolling cubes (or "Gridders") in order to collect all of each level's Pyramid Keys. These keys are often trapped inside moving Gridders, requiring players to carefully manipulate other Gridders to block them so that they drop their keys. Aiding him is his half-dog, half-robot companion Fidex. The game's story is set in the year 2049, where a pending ecological disaster causes the government to put resources into the shady Gridders Corporation, who are manufacturing automatons known as "Gridders" (derived from the acronym G.R.I.D., or Geo-Radical Interactive Dynamo). Zack, the last remaining assembly line worker, was laid off only to find out that there is a terrible secret hidden in the factory, and must travel through its depths to discover it. The game was later included as a pack-in game for Creative's 3DO Blaster PC add-on card, alongside Shock Wave (Game).
