Overview
A sequel of sorts to Nintendo's original driving game, F1 Race, Famicom Grand Prix contains more of a simulation element as players are able to purchase multiple cars with their prize winnings and choose which of them to drive before each race begins. While each car has statistics regarding important racing considerations such as acceleration and the grip of the tyres, it's a general rule that the more expensive cars tend to be better.
Unlike F1 Race, which was a "behind the car" view like that of Pole Position and OutRun, Famicom Grand Prix has an older style top-down view like Rally-X or Micro Machines.
