Emily is Away
A text game simulating chat conversations during several years between the player and an old friend from high school. Written for the 21st Annual Interactive Fiction Competition by Kyle Seeley.
Emily Is Away is a game focused around conversations with a girl named Emily over the course of five years in the early 2000s, from high school to college. It is presented through a stylized chat client, and is a linear story with small but significant changes to the plot as gameplay progresses.
