    Ever since PAX, where Randy Pitchford and the boys at Gearbox made the stunning announcement that they had taken over development of Duke Nukem Forever, with the unbelievable intent of actually finishing it and pressing it to discs and then shipping those discs to stores and then selling those discs as an actual, honest-to-goodness video game, well, Duke's been on our minds quite a bit. What better way, then, to reacquaint yourself with Mister Nukem's unique brand of corny-ass one-liners, casual misogyny, and white-hot hatred for porcine police officers than with a little bit of that old-fashioned Dukematch? Because that's exactly what we'll be doing on this week's Thursday Night Throwdown!

    Since the original PC version of Duke Nukem 3D was made before the dawn of Internet multiplayer, we'll be sidestepping any sort of IPX/SPX emulation or weird third-party tunneling boondoggle by just playing the 2008 Xbox Live Arcade release of the game. If you want in on the action, you can send a friend request to GBTNT on Xbox Live, and then be ready to rock this Thursday between 4PM and 6PM PDT. We're also inviting folks to submit their own ridiculous promotional banners, the best of which we'll be featuring on the front door of the site. Check out this forum thread for more details on that. Of course, you can always just watch the carnage unfurl on our live video stream while getting good and belligerent in the chat, Duke-style.

    So, i was playing competitive online  in dead rising 2, and the "ramsterball" game came up. One of the announcers said "he loves the balls of steel". Everyone on Mics in the game snickered, and for the rest of the game someone played Duke Nukem clips into his headset.  I've come to the conclusion that any game would be better with Jon St John.

     It's really not that hard to get multiplayer going on the PC, thanks to source ports. I think. I haven't actually tried.
    It's probably not nearly as hard as you seem to think it is, though.

    What do you think most of the content on this website or any gaming website for that matter is geared towards? And besides if it's to encourage people to play more Duke Nukem 3D, I don't see how this could be a bad thing at all.

    In online gaming on pc, most typically mmos people use a program called Ventrillo to communicate.
    The server itself is a registered domain with a unique address similar to how you register a website address.  You can tell the program how many rooms you want, set the whole thing up with passwords and pretty much use any headset / codec with it.    
     
    As hilarious as that video was I dont get why she didn't just mute him, anyone in vent can mute anyone else.  lol

    I know the guy that made all the Vent Harassment vids. We played WoW together for a long while. People from random guilds would often contact him with vent info and he would give it to us and we would all join the server and piss people the hell off, all the while the insider is laughing their ass off. I believe in the case of the Duke harassment the insider was the one who says "I did find it funny, until she started screaming."  Good times were had.

    @Lazyaza:  I know the guy who did it, he created multiple IPs or something and would have about 50 profiles logged into vent at once, all spamming soundboards at the same time. It was impossible for anyone to ban them all.
