A hex based strategy game that depicts the battle of the Korsun-Cherkasy pocket during the early months of 1944. The Russian 1st and 2nd Ukrainian Fronts encircled elements of Erich Von Manstein's Southern Army Group along the Dnieper River in the Ukraine. Although the German forces found themselves greatly outnumbered, by February 16th 1944 Army Group South had been able to successfully evacuate the majority of its troops from the pocket. Despite the tactical brilliance displayed by German troops during the operation, by 1944 the Wehrmacht could do little to deter the numerically superior Soviet forces.

Each turn represents 12 hours of in game time. Victory is obtained by destroying enemy forces and capturing strategic points which accrues victory points. The game features a play-by-email option for two players and a single player campaign. The expansion, Across the Dnepr, was also released in 2003.
