Is there any advantage to getting either PS3 or 360 Version? I need a new game for the PS3 although I do like my points..

Probably depends on which is more important: A larger PS3 library, or achievements. I bet any graphical differences are negligible.

Is there ever an advantage over the other? The answer: yes, 360 is always the primary choice.

If you care about achievements, then that might be the only difference between the games.

PS3 version has a better looking box imo, and for those quiet tense moments, you won't be bothered by disk spinning in the background. The fan can get kind of loud though

I thought they had the same box art? And I forgot about drive noises. PS3 seems frighteningly silent to me (Probably because it's right next to my PC).

If you care about the fate of your soul post death then get the 360 version.

But seriously I'd go with 360 because of the achievements and the fact that the 360 controller has actual triggers.  But I guess trophies are pretty sexy so up to you.

Betwixt the consoles, it's lead developed on the PS3, but 360 games are cheaper(they are here, at least)

I think I'm going to buy the 360 version today personally, solely because the tighter thumbsticks on the 360 pad seem better for this sort of game.

I think maybe the price of the game and which controller do you like better. From what I've seen they look identical on both platforms.

    PS3 for me.

1)My PS3 needs more games in it's library.
2)The PS3 case is more elegant.
3)PS3 often runs better or faster due to installs.
4)If it's not a multiplayer game I can use on Live with my friends why
not stick with the quiet machine?

There are trophies/there are achievements. Both run perfectly and essentially are identical (according to Eurogamers review). PS3 was lead platform but it looks the same in 360 so irrelevent.

Well, given that Redwood Shores switched to PS3 as lead platform halfway through the development, you actually CAN tell the difference.  I've seen them run side by side as of today, and the PS3 has smoother textures and better lighting.  You have to be LOOKING FOR IT, however...so it's not a huge deal.

I've been playing it today (about to hit Chapter 3), and I gotta say...LOVIN' IT!  Great game so far, although I really want more than 3 enemy types.  I'll tell ya, though...trying to hit limbs instead of headshots is FUCKING HARD!!!  lol  You'll come up with some creative ways to kill shit, though.

I should beat the game sometime tonight or tomorrow (heard there's only about 12 hours, and there are 10 chapters on the achievements).  So far, achievement whores might wanna steer clear unless they want to put at least 2 playthroughs in.  It's worth it so far though.

I'll get some more gameplay in, and once I've beaten it and gotten decently into a second playthrough, I'll throw a review up for y'all.

PS3 version has Trophys. Also, it has a black Exclusive DLC suit, while 360 has a Grey Exclusive DLC suit. I kinda like the PS3 one more. I still cant decide which version to get. My PS3 controllers face buttons seem to feel like there not as solid as the 360s,

The suits you can get are Level 5 suits, by the way...meaning that it makes the game RIDICULOUSLY more easy than just playing through like usual.  It pisses me off, tbh.

In ReTarDedFisHy's opinion, PS3 version is the better version to get. Disregarding the fact that only has a PS3, the PS3's visuals look sharper, with better textures and better HDR lighting, as the 360 only as 64-bit HDR lighting whereas the PS3 has 128-bit HDR lighting.

There has been a new comparison video posted on VideoGamer.com, in 720p HD. There you can decide for yourself, but from what ReTarDedFisHy has seen, the PS3 has better visuals. It can be found here: http://www.videogamer.com/videos/dead_space_dead_space_video_comparison.html?type=hd
For some reason, the 360 and PS3's visual roles have been switched around, the 360 this time around is washed-out and has a blur-fliter

There's also been some comparison shots floating around (the zoomed-in ones) where the PS3's textures are slightly better. It also depends on what color suit you want. The glow on the suit is either yellow-green-lighted (360) or blue-lighted (PS3), well in any case, it's supposed to be like that, but from what ReTarDedFisHy has seen, it's practically the same. The DLC suit on the PS3 is black, and the 360 is grey.

This is just ReTarDedFisHy's opinion. Almost everything is subjective, so you should decide for yourself.

The framerate on the PS3 version of Dead Space just dropped to a slideshow in Chapter 7 when taking the lift back up to the control room after deactivating the gravity tethers. It's had some other hiccups, too. Anyone with the 360 version notice any framerate problems? Not that I'd want the 360 version to have the same problems, but it'd be pretty irritating when EA said they would run identically, and IGN writes a whole insider article they expect people to pay for saying the same thing.

EDIT: Kind of irrelevent at this point for anyone who's already bought the game, but I've gotten confirmation from a friend that the 360 version has none of the framerate issues the PS3 version has, so there you go.

I've heard that PS3 also has trophies so that shouldn't really sway your opinion. I usually would buy my games on PS3 solely for the fact that it's on a Blu-ray disc and Blu-ray has a scratch resistant coating.
