DayZ: Heavy Decisions - Solid Shooting - Demanding Survival
DayZ has seen darker dayz. The 5-year "alpha" did it no favors. It was a joke in the survival community but after some massive development, it's a decent game now. It's a fast action, slow paced, decision heavy game with good shooting foundations and a demanding survival system. While missing some fundamental features from Arma 3, this game does bake a strong, ominous feeling into every encounter either with zombies or other players. For instance, I'll find myself weighing the consequences of firing a handgun at a zombie blocking the exit of a house I'm in. If I do so, I'll attract more zombies and possibly player bandits. If I don't I'll have to either melee it and risk getting hurt and possibly infected, or do some creative parkour out of the building which could risk my leg bones. It's hard enough to survive this gloomy world with working legs, much less while pulling your broken body across the street with at least one zombie devouring your slightly mobile meat.
