David is the leader of a community of survivors in The Last of Us (Game). He speaks in a rational manner, hiding a darkness to Ellie during their first interactions that the post-apocalyptic world has brought out of many other survivors of his ilk. He is introduced in the Winter chapter, stumbling upon Ellie after she had killed a deer. He offers medicine from his camp to trade with her meat. Ellie forms an uneasy alliance with him when they both fall under attack by a big group of Infected. His true colors are soon revealed after they survive the encounter.
