David Bowie was a musician, actor, and music producer. He was known for popularizing many musical movements including Glam Rock, Ambient (along with Brian Eno), and Art Rock. He sold over 100 million records worldwide.
David Bowie was an English rock star. While he only voice acted in a single game, Omikron: The Nomad Soul, his music has been used in various music games such as Rock Band (Franchise), Elite Beat Agents (Game), SingStar (Franchise), Guitar Hero (Franchise), and Amplitude (Game). Hideo Kojima (Person) is a huge fan of Bowie's music. In Metal Gear Solid 3, Major Zero (Character)'s codename, "Major Tom", is a reference to Bowie, as is the name of Big Boss (Character)' army, "Diamond Dogs", in Metal Gear Solid V, which also features Midge Ure's cover of David Bowie's song, "The Man Who Sold the World". In Lego Rock Band, David Bowie is featured as a playable mini-fig version of himself.
