MY cousin buys a lot of RPG's. some of them are good, some of them are greats and some of them.... Shadow Madness. Needless to say, i'm usually wary whenever i snatch something from his pile o' RPG's. Luckily for me, Dark Cloud 2 is actually a fun damn game. Shadow Madness, not so much. Broken - avoid the hype 1
That's right, broken.1. you have to sit through the spoken dialog for each supporting character, sometimes at lengths of more than a minute. If you click on them again by accident, might as well break out a smoke, if that is your poison.2. each dungeon (and there are alot of them) MUST be cleared of the monsters contained within before you can proceed. Fascinating RPG that covers every element about the genre 0
Let me say this first of all if you just want to skim this review.This game has almost EVERYTHING the RPG genre had in them at the time of it's release. Every major style and minor mini-game that some rpg's had both others lacked THIS GAME HAD IT. The game has a fricking GOLF game that actually beats out a lot of the japanese arcade style golf games already out there. Disclamer I dont remember the begain of the game very well, it was 7 months ago when I started this game. Sorry if I am wrong with anything, let me know and I will change it. Time to pull another RPG out of the bookshelf to finally play through it. I have a lot of positive memories of Dark Cloud 2 yet I never managed to finish it. The mixture of different gameplay styles really gives it a positive first impression.
