Overview
Bob Sapp is an American kickboxer and mixed martial arts fighter who transitioned into a fighting career after a brief stint as an American football player. He was drafted in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears with the 69th overall pick. However, he only appeared in one regular season game in a brief career that ended in 1998. His fighting career began when he was recruited by Pride, a Japanese MMA organization. He subsequently signed with the Japanese kickboxing promotion K-1. Sapp has also fought under the Strikeforce, ONE Fighting Championship and Super Fight League promotions.
