Blitzball

CONCEPT

A sport from Final Fantasy X that takes place inside a large floating sphere of water. It is a cross between hockey, soccer, water polo and rugby.

Sport

Blitzball is the national sport of Spira (Location). Players go into a floating sphere of water and try to score goals by throwing or kicking a blitzballinto a goal. Back in the time of Zanarkand (Location), Tiduswas the star player of the Zanarkand Abes. His father Jecht (Character) was also a star player in his day. When Tidus gets transported to future Spira, Wakkais the star player and captain of the BesaidAurochs.    

Minigame

Blitzball serves as a minigame withinFinal Fantasy X (Game). It is a mixture of real time and turn based strategy. In order to unlock Wakka (Character)'s Ultimate Weapon, the players must compete in numerous Blitzball matches and be victorious.
