Blackhole Assault is a sci-fi-themed fighting game featuring robots, released for Sega CD and TurboGrafx-CD.

Overview

Blackhole Assault was released in 1992 for Sega CD (Platform) and TurboGrafx-CD, developed by Micronet (Company) and published by Micronet (Japan), Bignet U.S.A., Inc. (US), and Sega (Company) (Europe). The TurboGrafx-CD version was only released in Japan. It is the sequel to the single-player platformer Heavy Nova (Game), which had fighting game-esque boss fights upon which Blackhole Assault's engine is based. In the game's story, the hostile Akirovian alien race has returned to deter humanity's further exploration of the stars, and the order is given for the bipedal CAM mechs to defeat the guardians and take control of various Akirovian bases across the solar system in order to push them out.
