    Overview

    Asuka 120% Special BURNING Fest. is a 2D fighting game developed by Fill-in-Cafe and published by Family Soft for the Sony PlayStation in Japan on March 29, 1996.

    The second major revision to Asuka 120% BURNING Fest., Special further updates the graphics and soundtrack while adding a new hidden boss (the mysterious Shinobu) and a new gameplay mechanic: the "Burning Gauge" (a percentage-based super meter that can exceed to 120%, giving a temporary buff of unlimited super moves).

    The game received a minor updated re-release in June 1996, adjusting game balance. This version would later be re-released digitally for supported PlayStation Network platforms (as a Shodai PS Archives title) in Japan on December 8, 2010.

    Another updated version of the game, titled Asuka 120% Excellent: BURNING Fest. Excellent, was released on May 9, 1997. This version includes the updated Story Mode of the original Excellent update while making Shinobu playable from the start. It was later re-released digitally for supported PlayStation Network platforms (as a Shodai PS Archives title) in Japan on Febrauary 9, 2011.
