I've been an Android user for a couple of years, but this is my first tablet. I had a Galaxy S2 and recently got an S3, so I have most of the must-have apps and games already and am rooted, running custom ROMs and kernels, and so forth.
The Nexus 7 comes with $25 of Play store credit that of really like to make the most of with tablet-specific apps and games. I figured I'd reach out to the community before buying anything and see what you all think the hot Android tablet apps are.
Thanks everyone, looking forward to your input!
Just got a Nexus 7. App recommendations for my $25 credit?
Lux because the built-in auto brightness on Android blows.
and unfortunately there's not really many hot Android tablet apps. Most of the good ones are free as well.
edit: I would recommend getting the "Browser" browser on your tablet, it's much smoother than Chrome on my dad's Nexus 7! Works with Flash too but you need a custom ROM for that to work, or at least I did otherwise Flash kept crashing. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769847)
Perhaps you'd be interested in Final Fantasy III? Quite expensive, but it translates well to the Nexus 7, so I hear. You could also save your money for the Android release of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, perhaps?

Dude yes, great idea! I've been looking forward to Baldur's Gate, I'll definitely do that. From the looks of things on the market and the responses I've received so far, I'll probably have plenty of money left over after buying the few apps I have my eye on right now.
I just purchased Tablet Talk for $2.99, it enables text message sending/receiving/syncing on tablets which seems pretty cool and useful.
@MB: Glad I could help! The Android version doesn't have a release date yet, but all the other versions of BGEE are due in September. Can't imagine it'll come out much further from the other releases.
@MB: Dead Trigger is visually impressive but uses the Free to play model with purchased items. It was a dollar before but reports say that piracy was high on the android version so they ended up just giving it out for free

Other than that, I just used my free $25 for the HD season of Black Dynamite.
