Doesn't look like much of an inferno to me, but then this is a really dumb joke to make that is only barely tied to the story. Still, this is probably better than that lame 83-part marketing campaign that EA cooked up for Dante's Inferno. There I go again, writing long captions for no good reason. Sorry!

Hey, just wanted to quickly drop in with a list of Xbox 360 and PC games that have been added to the Giant Bomb achievement system over the last month. Normally, these come in the form of our weekly post about the most popular achievements on the site. That'll be returning shortly, but in the meantime, I thought you might like to know what's new, achievementally speaking.

Yep, all of those games are now in the system. So if you hit the game pages and press the magic "achievements" button on the left side of the page, you'll get a fat list of them.

Much like Halo Waypoint, the three music stores for Lips, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band all show up on your profile, even though they aren't actual games and don't have any achievements associated with them. Seems like a waste of space unless they're going to eventually roll out some kind of avatar awards that are awarded because of progress in multiple games, just like Halo Waypoint does.

Boy, BioShock 2 sure does have a lot of multiplayer achievements. As for the most popular lists, like I said, we'll bring that back soon enough. Until then, just sit back and imagine that Borderlands is still on top. Because it probably is.

Oh BioShock - the addition of multiplayer didn't bother me. But then you add a load of multiplayer achievements which I'll now have to get to gain an S Rank? Ugh...

    Also, dude, Clerks. (Argh, italics).

Jesus, BioShock 2's multiplayer is really being pushed far up into this franchise =/. Even Uncharted 2 only had 2 multiplayer trophies to which were like the easiest out of the lot too.

I heard the Mass Effect 2 achievements contain spoilers so I am staying away from them. I do agree that Bioshock 2's MP-based list is disappointing too.

Also, that's some bad news r.e. Bioshock.  I can only assume the single player must be fairly one-dimensional if they have to fall back on the antiquated crutch of deathmatch achievements for their bulk.

Just in case it's not yet been mentioned here...That caption is actually appropriate in that Kevin Smith himself has said that the inspiration behind Dante's name came from Aligheri and his Divine Comedy.  I would therefore love it if at some point in the game one of the tortured souls stops gnashing teeth and wails out "I'm not supposed to be here today!"  Preferably in Italian.

What the hell is with the hyperbolic representation of Bioshock achievements? Like, 60% are secret, so almost certainly story related, and a bunch are things like upgrading, beating big daddies (there are achievements involving this for both SP and one for MP), etc. There were maybe 8 MP achievements on a pretty effing long list of achievements. I mean hey, if you make a game that has MP, you mind as well put achievements in there. These ones aren't really bad, because chances are people are supposed to focus on doing these things in the game anyway. I'm not defending Bioshock 2 in any way, but really? Not that bad. Just because MW2 went the way of no achievements for what is, lets face it, the games BIGGEST FEATURE, doesn't mean it's bad to have MP achievements guys. If you want Bioshock 2 to not be connected to the original because you feel it's a disservice to the fans, then why not be happy it's going in a new and different direction, and trying to stand on its own?

That "Japanese" version of Batman: Arkham Asylum might be the Asian version, since all the achievements are in English, and weirdly the Asian versions of Xbox 360 games are usually in English.

Playing with credits will be total ripoff and waste of money. 40 points to get just a one credit?  20 points would be a quarter and since these are ancient games 10 or 15 would be fair.

Maybe they are thinking of having something like 50% off of 100 credits special days or something. Would be hard to discount from 10 points really.

Games for Windows Live? Neat! Does this mean we can earn both Xbox Live and Steam achievements in games like World of Goo? That's something I've wanted to see for awhile.

You'll have to purchase & play the game twice to get both the Live and Steam achievements for World of Goo. Only the steam purchased version has steam achievements, and only the GFWL marketplace purchased version has live achievements.

@MattyFTM: So you can only get the Live-enabled version from the GFWL Marketplace? Does Microsoft force it that way, or could the developer choose to implement Games for Windows Live in other versions if they wanted? Probably the former. It is Microsoft after all.

Doesn't affect me much anyway, since I doubt I'll ever earn any achievements in World of Goo anyway. :D
