I'm just glad he isn't concerning himself with casting just yet.  Worrying about such things feels very "cart before the horse" in my opinion.

I like the idea of this Uncharted movie.

As for BioShock: The Film, it would need to be seriously altered to focus on Andrew Ryan as the protagonist. The thing is, Jack Ryan and the classic would-you-kindly motif really only works in a video game where you have followed orders via Pavlovian reflex and not even thought about it twice. I would love to see Rapture in a film, and I'd love to see Verbinski direct, but it can't just be BioShock. This is why I almost think Verbinski should just tell his story of a fallen underwater utopia without the BioShock license, citing that the idea was originally going to be connected to BioShock but was ultimately rejected, so he decided to create an original film.

I have a feeling that this may be a video game movie that's actually alright, seeing as Uncharted is a very cinematic series. And with this new director, that's just one step closer to getting Mark Wahlberg out and someone who can actually act, in.

The important thing was that Sony and Naughty Dog fired O.Russell. But it's great to hear this kinda stuff from Neil Burger now too - I think I can actually throw some support behind this guy if he keeps talking like this:) Granted, I was also behind Christophe Gans when he was making Silent Hill, and Mike Newell when he was making Prince of Persia. And while  I like those movies well enough, they weren't as good as they should've been. Still, right now, I'm in support of Neil Burger 100%. 
 
It's good to hear someone who sounds actually familiar with the game. And I even feel hopeful that Nathan Fillion could end up with a role....not Nathan Drake, but a role. Sorta like how Bruce Campbell got into the Spider-Man movies? 
 
Here's hoping this version of the movie comes together:) I haven't seen a good action-adventure on film since Sahara. Those National Treasure movies blow, like most Nicholas Cage movies (sorry Alex Navarro), and Indy IV is a disaster starring a joyless old grump and a douchebag. We need a good Uncharted movie.

He's saying the right things we all wanna hear about this movie, yes. But that doesn't mean that's how its gonna be throughout the project. Here's to hoping thou.

I still don't understand why Uncharted needs to become a movie. The thing that makes it so special is that it's so much like a movie but it's a video game.

People need to stop with the whole Nathan Fillion push, he must be super embarrassed. Dude's on a television show, too, so it's not like he's necessarily available for a big budget movie shoot. I can just imagine some casting people calling him to tell him that a bunch of internet nerds have been pestering them and him saying "Uhhh, yeah, sorry about that. I have nothing to do with that. I'm not that needy, really. "

Once the script's done (lord knows that really is the most important part), get Fillion as Drake and Bruce Campbell as Sully and I will see this even if it completely sucks!

I really feel good about this video game. Video game, video game and video game.

People will complain  no matter what . So just make it commercially acceptable and win that way. Theres NO WAY of pleasing fanboys NO WAY  just give up .

In an age of cinematic gaming with developed characters and good stories... do we really need movies based on these? And screw Nanthan Fillion, the voice actors themselves were used for modeling the characters, why not just use them?
 
Oh well if these happen I'll just wait to see what Matt and Alex have to say.

I think Chris Evans would make a great Nathan Drake, He's got the looks and he does portray alot of the personality that Drake does

Nathan Fillion has actually said he'd be very interested in playing the role.

I still have low expectations since it's still a film based on a video game.

We all know this going to end up being a Nicolas Cage next summer movie adventure

I recently saw Limitless and enjoyed the hell out of that movie. While I'm still cautious on the whole thing I now have a sign of hope.
