FYI, the two new PSVR bundles are this game and Moss, or Superhot VR, Creed, and two move controllers

Lol, I was like Jeff and also wondered why they referenced LA till the number started dropping. (For those that don't know 213 is the area code for LA)

This shit with the tracking messing up is so weird. I have a PSVR at home (from the Skyrim bundle) and don't have this problem. I do use one of the older PS4 cameras, but other than that I don't know what the difference would be. Some people have reported on Reddit centering on the left lens in the camera... maybe that would help.

The thing where the controller ends up doing a 180 is insane regardless, though. I've literally never seen that type of drift with my unit!

Also, 310 for lyfe.

I don't think the camera is as well managed as Lucky's Tale, Having played that in June using re-Vive when I got a windows mixed reality headset cheap. Lucky's had no problem with you backtracking through levels and also did lots of little perspective tricks for its collectibles.

For me its only fine during the day, at night I get GB results. I play in a relatively small room though with lots of posters and a white closet so I'd guess for me its just the reflecting of the blue lights in my closet, walls&posters. In daylight it works flawlessly for me, artificial light sometimes. The cord of the camera also sucks though. If you keep unplugging it you gotta make sure its propperly unfurled because otherwise it can start pulling on the camera because the cord is so thick. Cleaning the camera can also make a huuuuge differece for me sometimes (I just breathe on it and wipe with a fine microfibre cloth)

I hope GB crew can get that weird drifting issue fixed at some point. I know they have tried a lot of things already. It's a bummer it's still a lingering problem. The controller flipping at the end was very surprising.

Also Brad is still in the beginning of the second planet. So much joy to look forward too! The later levels are going to blow his mind.

If you get drift, hold the option button down for 0.5 seconds or something and it resets. It's really not even slightly a problem 99% of the time it happens. Also, it kinda only happens in sub optimal situations such as with a really bright wall behind you or harsh lights or reflections or whatnot. It's a poopfest to get working right in certain homes, but once it works and you know what doesn't work, the PSVR is totally fine.

Great time to buy one as well. There's an Astro Bots/Moss bundle where you get both the games and the hmd and camera. No moves though, but it's really cheap. I suspect it's gonna drop below 200 during Black Friday.

WipEout alone is worth it at that price. That game, once you get semi fast crafts, holy balls.. It's just spectacular. The first time you drop into a vertical wall climb, oh man.. man oh man! Soo good!

There are more than enough games on the PSVR to make it worth it at this point. Firewall is pretty amazing with the Aim controller. Like amazing in a way that you're not prepared for if you've never played VR. Lifting your gun over your head and shooting over cover is so fucking fun I can't even begin to express it. As opposed to 3rd person games, you don't actually see over the cover when blind firing, so you don't know if your target has retreated or is about to round the corner and put his gun on your face and pulling the trigger... All you see are the bullets flying over your head and your gun spitting out brass. It's so intense!

One of the best reasons to buy a PSVR is that, every week, there is a chance that a game that pushes the platform forward will drop.. The past year, this has happened multiple times in VR and zero times outside VR. This IS the platform you want to get in on RIGHT NOW if you remember the early days of 8bit and the early days of 3dfx with a warm fuzzy feeling. You are so close to missing out on the most influential era of a new platform.

There's a reason the 3 big VR subs on reddit are packed to the brim with extremely enthusiastic fanatics.. This has rekindled the love of gaming for so many people, and I hope that everyone will just join in.. It's wonderful in there! Multiplayer is so nice because there aren't a million assholes here yet. Most people are just super amped about the tech and the games, and there's just excitement on the voice chats whereas in flat games, assholes have long since taken over any voice communication to the point where people just shut that whole feature off.

Anyways.. Black friday, get this stuff!

Games to buy:

- Statik

- Moss

- Robot Rescue

- WipEout Omega Collection

- Super Hot

- Catch & Release (I've never been more relaxed by a game)

- Skyrim maybe

- RE7 if you like horror

- Rec Room

- Polybius is a feast for the eyes. It's also an eyesore in equal measure.

- Bow to Blood

- The Persistance

Also, Dreams Beta is coming out soon.. It's got VR support and it's going to be the most amazing thing that's ever happened to user created content. I will be able to make my own worlds, my own vehicles, my own characters.. My own music and all that shit.. Anyone who is into VR knows how amazing it is to build something in VR. So far, all we've been able to create has been fairly static models and not much more. Dreams will let us create games from nothing.. A gift from the gaming gods.

Those are a few of the games I've really loved or the community has been loving. If they're in a genre you might enjoy, I would claim that these are all safe buys. Be warned: RE7 crippled me with fear in a way that nothing else has. That game was not for me, but if you're a horror buff, there's really no reason why you shouldn't own a PSVR. You will shit your fucking pants.

At the start of the generation Astrobots sold the PS Camera. Now they are selling PSVR. They seem to be doing something right with them.

Why is this titled VRodeo but filed under Quick Look? Since I also criticized the Moss video about this let it be known for the record that I dissapprove of this labelled as VRodeo. Quick Look is the correct filing. The title is wrong.

Is a VR Quick Look necessarily a VRodeo? I don't think it is. A rodeo by definition has multiple events

Gunna agree, I was excited for a new VRodeo, instead it's one game. I actually flicked through the video (since I don't have PSVR) to see if they got into other stuff because of the title.

A VRodeo is any video about VR games! That's how it's always been!

We just tended to mostly do roundups early on because the average VR game wasn't worth a standalone video.

I recognize those robot sounds anywhere. They reused assets from old Buzz Junior games.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJAEAZICbks

Spent 6 months QA testing an assortment of them back in the early 2000s. would never forget that sound.

This one wasn't: https://www.giantbomb.com/videos/unfinished-ex-golem-playstation-vr-03172016/2300-11054/

But in any case, if you are going to label single games as a VRodeo please at least put on a face cam and/or green screen with it to differentiate it from regular quick looks. That's all. Thanks.

Fun looking game. Hate that the PSVR is so inconsistent. I had the exact same issues when I had mine and eventually couldn't deal with it anymore. Glad its still get such great titles though

GB needs to do way more VR coverage. I think it's really disappointing that they don't cover much more VR games, as there are SO many good ones out there. I'm super surprised they still haven't covered Firewall Zero Hour, Creed, Electronauts, etc. Kinda lame :(

Maybe it's because I'm at a point in my life where I have to deal with a lot of serious stuff and it's wearing me down but oh my god do these guys complain about every single stupid thing ever. I don't think I've ever seen them or heard them be excited about something, anything!!! It's always bummer, wooooow, and oh god being uttered as means of showing frustration with something as perfunctory as a platformer or a piece of hardware which can be fixed in two minutes!!! How do they handle real life difficulties, I cannot imagine.
