I bought one of those Elite Horses (Sheriff Mc Nuggets) and bought all the saddle buffs and upgrades, not to mention some sick rims and neon lights. The whole horse came to well over a grand. I loaded up my save today and he's gone!? He's not at the camp, not at the stable where I bought him and my allocated horse now is just some generic no name Tennessee Walker. It's like he's been erased entirely. I played the game for a good few hours and saved multiple times before it went missing.

Has anyone else had this happen? It's not like it was killed off camera or anything, I don't think that's a thing is it?

@sirvapesal0t: I'm pretty sure it is. I got killed by bounty hunters and I'm pretty sure I heard my horse get shot as I went down (it was the second one I had bought in the story mission." When I respawned they had defaulted me to the little brown horse from the beginning. Kinda sucks because its really easy to get your horse killed but oh well. Definitely not going to dump money into a horse, I just got my stamina up through the roof so I run everywhere like Forest Gump.

all the saddle stuff will stay, but yeah man these horses die like nothing and theres nothing you can do. I was trying to go up a too-steep hill, ragdolled down into a river, current bashed me into a rock and left me watching helplessly as my ragdolled horse flailed over the edge of the waterfall and was lost forever.

Hmm. Perhaps. I am almost 65 percent the way through the story and I haven't had my horse die (I bought the elite, smaller black horse; don't remember the breed). Is that what caused it, or it just randomly went missing? Does the money say you spent anything? Obviously, you whistled for it right? Perhaps it's somewhere in the world that you can't reach it? That said, it'd tell you that, so maybe not.
