Excellent, been waiting a while for this.

It took them this long to just copy the Wii..?

I'm enjoying the BS2 multiplayer a lot, feels much more relaxed than something like MW2.  $5 is so close to $0 that I'll almost certainly be getting this.
 
edit: Unless these new upgrades are better than the existing ones, it shouldn't unbalance anything.  You can still only equip one upgrade at a time, you'll just now have an extra choice.  I guess if they're all markedly better than the existing ones that could lead to a problem.

Downloading this game right now, I'd love to have some times to compete against as none of my current friends have the game.

Seems like a great deal to me.  I'm much more interested in this deal than a game featuring songs from just one band that I don't even particularly like.
