Not sure why people are finding it so hard to know what kind of content exists in this game beyond the Beta stuff you saw. A quick search would easily bring up the list.

3 Factions with missions each specialized to their flavor.

Treasure Hunters - Get maps, find chests; Message in a bottle find chests; Search sunken shipwrecks find chests.

Traders - Haul a load of cargo from one outpost to another without losing it; Find animals on islands and trap them to sell; Find unique curios and treasures to sell.

Mystics - Hunt evil pirate lords and take their skulls back for trade; Message in a bottle - find and destroy pirate lords for bounty; find cursed items and trade for bounties.

Assault undead pirate strongholds - Take your crew and assault an undead pirate stronghold and be the first to snag the key to the special vault room containing unique chests, curios and the pirate lord skulls (from the assualt)

Raid - Defeat the Kracken! Join multiple ships in the fight against the massive Kracken. This is an event that will randomly attack ships and pull them underwater (you can fend it off and escape sometimes) unless a group bands together to defeat it in combat. This will scare away the Kracken for a time leaving you free to sail in (relative) peace.

That's still a problem because you mention 5 things and 2 of them (look for treasure chests and haul chickens) are things I NEVER want to do again. They need more missions and content. The sailing is fun and on foot combat is decent enough, but I think a lot of people will get quickly bored. Something like the skeletons having their own ships and you have to fight them if you run into one would help spice things up too. If Ubisoft handles their pirate game right it could bury this one if Rare isn't careful.

I kinda feel like if you aren't into finding buried treasure from maps and clues you might not be the person for a fantasy pirate game my dude.

If no one else is in for it I've been watching Holy Potatoes for a while. I'd love a key for it.

They would probably give you some guidance but depending on the Civ you play and how you choose to focus there could be some issues with pre-R&F advice. Specifically relating to how the new Loyalty system works and placing cities.

Other than where to place expansion cities you could probably look up general guides though.

I seem to be out of a loop here.....who is this dude?

He is the guy who bought a pharma company and increased the cost of the drug Daraprim (people with a specific illness required this to live) 5000% because no one else manufactured it. Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump AND Bernie Sanders all came out against him during the last election campaign. He goes by the handle 'Pharma Bro'. He did speaking gigs beside Milo Yiannopoulos. He was kicked off twitter for harassment.

Oh and I guess he was super into League of Legends and tried to buy a few Esports teams. He also allegedly bought a Wu Tang album of which there was a single copy.

Looks like they did the Martin Shkreli sentence today. He got 7 years or 84 months.

There's an article about it up on Vice right now if you're interested.

Nope. If you don't like the combat you won't like the story enough for the rest. The only real interesting thing this game does is the mechanic of new game plus (Which isn't really a new game plus just more of a Shyamalan twist).

I suggest if you really want to know what's going on watch a youtube clip or two of the openings of the first couple of new game plus and the "true" ending if you want to see what all the bother is about.

I actually bugged Patrick about this very thing ages ago when he was on G4 and he thanked me and made a concerted effort to improve. It really worked well and I've been really on board with much of Patrick's content since those salad days. It's one of the first times I saw Patrick really try to self improve on camera and I've appreciated his work more ever since.

I think it's reasonable to call people out on this sometimes just try not to be negative about it. Everyone needs a push sometimes and it would really do many of the Giant Bomb crew service if they just focused on reducing the number of "likes" from their performances.
