2 minutes in and everyone is already fighting over what combat system is best.

Definitely a Final Fantasy conversation.

Wait, people actually like those freestyle machines? They just slow everything down when people can't figure them out. Or some little kid decides he needs one drop of every one of the 200 choices they have on the thing. Or the touchscreen breaks.

Still no Star Trek: Bridge Crew, huh? Are they ever going to do that? I've kind of been looking forward to it ever since they said before E3 "yeah we'll do that after E3." Still waiting.

Just imagine the hijinks.....

Star Trek: Bomb Crew, A Weekly Series.

Vinny messing around with his voice changer, Abby getting scared, Jeff in the captains seat, Brad going full Brad. COME OOOOONNN.

Captain's Log, Stardate 2341.082 - The entity calling itself "Dan" is continuing to subject the crew to endless hours of Mario Party in a sick attempt to drive everyone on the ship mad. He has also reprogrammed the replicators to only respond to requests for Taco Bell. Unless a solution is found quickly, I fear the entire crew will lose their minds.

Having never played any of the Crash games, I am somewhat mystified why these are popular. That boss fight made the games look capital T Terrible.

@redhotchilimist: We've probably had 40 Mario games in the same time period. Both are good examples of how there's a complete stagnation of new ideas in AAA gaming.

I think Mario is a hundred times better because they use a variety of different genres and generally keep it to one iteration of a subseries per console. It's the making a similar game yearly part that's exhausting. The closest Mario got to that was the New Super Mario Bros series. They only had one game for DS, Wii, 3DS and Wii U, but because they were so similar that also felt like way too much.

What I'm saying is Assassin's Creed should have more kart racers and JRPGs.

What's the Assassin's Creed version of the Blue Shell?

Oh, Zelda 2. What a weird game. I got up to the final palace and then my save got corrupted. Haven't gone back since.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Its good to hear that you eventually get more powerful in the game. But how long are you weak for? Because it may be a great feeling when you finally can stand up to the enemies, but if its after too many hours of unfun (to me) gameplay, I don't think it'd be worth it (for me).

Looking at your prior comments, I don't know that this game is going to be for you.

The issue I had with it is that it operates on sort of a bell curve. It'll be 3-4 hours of mainlining before you get enough weapons or abilities to feel decently powerful. The problem is that those first 3-4 hours are pretty excruciating. The wrench combat feels real bad and character movement manages to be simultaneously clunky and floaty. Think a gorilla on ice skates.

The middle part of the game is OK You have a decent selection of powers and weapons. You can go up against enemies assuming you put some thought into it.

Then the back half of the game you are so ridiculously powerful the game lacks any degree of challenge. Especially if you abuse neuromod crafting. At that point it becomes something of a grind just to get through. I played on the PS4, so the load times definitely didn't help, but I still think the game is about 30% too long. It had a few too many (I felt) highly obvious twists just to keep things going a little while longer.

I finished the game, and I'd say on the balance I enjoyed it, but it isn't something I see myself ever going back to.

The depth of the customization stuff seems neat, but I get the feeling it would be kind of a pain to navigate menus that frequently. Ben swapping back and forth definitely made the gameplay feel a little choppy in spots.
