FYI that person makes a new account every few weeks to say some slurs and get banned. Just flag them and the mod team will take care of it.

I don't think I get this album. It reminds me of Moby, but without the hooks. Are the folks who really love this album actively listening to it or listening to it for ambiance? I have a hard time separating the songs, but they all have a pretty good beat and a general sense of melancholy. I don't know that I love what I'm hearing. Given how much people seem to like this album, I'll at least give a few songs a second listen.

Well folks, I guess we can pack it up. There's another bad person in gaming. We're going to need to table this discussion until we eradicate all other possible people and things anyone can object to. Sure is a shame we're not allowed to improve anything until we can improve everything, but them's the rules.

@andarthiel: I'm sure there are plenty of trans folks playing this game and enjoying it. The world contains multitudes. As I said in my comment, if you're listening to the specific trans people telling you that playing this game hurts them and you do so anyway, I think you're a jerk. I don't need some percentage of trans people to tell me not to do something before I respect their opinion. The handful of friends and people on this thread who have said so are enough for me.

@av_gamer: Yep. The review is basically what I expected. It's a generic open word game that has a Harry Potter coat of paint on it. So you get a bunch of people who are down for the IP saying it's amazing in every way because they don't play all of the games in this genre that look and play exactly like it. If you want an Ubisoft-style open world game but with Harry Potter, this is your option and you'll probably like it just fine. And then you get the actual jerks who are here for the abuse. But, as I said before, if you care more about playing a mediocre open world game with your brand of preference than the opinions of the trans folks telling you not to play the game, I think you're a jerk. And that's not targeted at you AV_Gamer, it's just a general thought.

@mistersims: Glad your takeaway from the last video you posted was that it wasn't dismissive enough.

@brian_: I agree. No one really kept Sonic Frontiers on their lists despite it being a better than expected open world game about a beloved property. And looking back even farther, no one really talks about Naruto: Rise of a Ninja. That game was the true OG of "licensed game with more polish than anyone really expected, but if you really think about it it's just a fine game and not actually that special".

I second Butterfly Soup and Get in the Car, Loser! Both of those games are great.

@av_gamer: Seems like all the sites that reviewed it early gave it pretty darn good scores, but the handful of reviewers who waited for there codes or bought the game themselves are having quite a worse experience. It'll be interesting to see where the game ends up.

@mistersims: I think everyone can agree on "mob violence and death threats are bad. Also don't dox people," but giving some crap to people who are buying this game without knowledge of what JK is doing seems like completely normal political action. Marches block the road and piss people off. Picket lines shut down companies and piss people off. Pissing people off so that they think about what they're choosing and choose something else is the mechanism that drives the change. If you aren't annoying someone via your protest, you aren't going to change anything.

I also would argue JK clearly isn't canceled in any meaningful way. She's still out there diverting her funds and advocating for laws to make lives for trans people worse. Being perceived as bad by very online people doesn't actually say much about what the average Harry Potter fan knows about her current stances. That's part of why you protest this game. You make a stink big enough that maybe the controversy gets covered by a main stream news channel and some new people know that buying more Harry Potter shit is putting money in the pocket of a person they wouldn't want to support.
