@pokysharpy: I have seen this a few times and while it makes total sense for you, it doesn't make sense for them as a reason to not play something. It's literally their job.
It's their job to create content for this website, not to play every game that comes out. Most of the stuff they play is on their personal time. And these are all 30-something dudes in various stages of social/family life, so they have varying degrees of personal time for games. Listen to Vinny on any Beastcast and he makes no secret that he barely has time to play any games. Meanwhile Dan can spend tons of time playing MGS V and devising evil Mario Maker levels.
If "it's literally their job" to play all these games, then you are putting them on the clock 24/7. That's ridiculous and would break the site.
Work/Life balance is a real thing, even when your job is working for Giant Bomb.
Okay, you don't need to go all in here...I'm simply saying you comparing them to you and your job, kids, whatever, isn't really something that I think is comparable/the same when their job is to play video games (and sure, create content based off of that).
I appreciate that you read those two sentences, but feel free to read the rest of my post where I point out that I understand it's their choice, and don't care what they do or don't decide to play. I definitely don't need a lecture on work/life balance, but thanks anyway.
@pokysharpy: I have seen this a few times and while it makes total sense for you, it doesn't make sense for them as a reason to not play something. It's literally their job. Don't get me wrong, I don't really care which of them did play the Witcher, for how long, any of that stuff because it's kind of silly and pointless (I can hear Jeff's voice in my head saying "Whooo cares.")...but, yeah. They are lucky because they really only have their fans to answer to, so they can pretty much decide if they want to/have to force themselves to play something. I'd say that that is unique for most major video game related websites. Anyway, that's just my $0.02 on this particular argument.
I was worried about it, but after giving it a shot I don't really have a problem getting everything and finishing in the time limit. On top of that, the bonus you get for finishing under par isn't all that significant, I've found. In some cases it has been much more worth it to take my time and get the bonus objectives.
This was great. I loved Austin basically telling Vinny not to Vinny up this game (I love the way Vinny plays games, I just thought that that moment was hilarious).
What's the book that Austin mentions here? I am now curious, as I also have lots of audio book time. I can't quite make out what Austin is saying, though.
